Dentsply Sirona Endodontics has combined two of its products to create a convenient, single-system solution in its GuttaCore for WaveOne Gold, which brings together the benefits and predictability of WaveGold canal shaping with the 3-D fill of GuttaCore, according to the company.
GuttaCore for WaveOne Gold obturators are sized and color-coded to precisely match the WaveOne Gold reciprocating file system. Also, GuttaCore for WaveOne Gold is designed to enable clinicians to effectively obturate challenging cases using the same technique with the ease of a single insertion.
A 2014 study shows the effectiveness of GuttaCore compared to other techniques in achieving a complete fill throughout the canal system, Dentsply Sirona Endodontics reports. Also, the company says, GuttaCore delivers the highest gutta-percha content with fewer apical and coronal voids than cold lateral techniques.
Furthermore, Dentsply Sirona Endodontics says that GuttaCore obturators matched to the WaveOne Gold file system offer optimal canal preparation before shaping with WaveOne Gold while preserving the natural shape of the canal.
Plus, GuttaCore obturators feature a crosslinked gutta-percha core that sends the surrounding warm, flowable gutta-percha three-dimensionally to follow the canal’s natural anatomy. The company calls it an efficient technique that offers the ease of a single insertion, so patients spend less time in the chair.
