The Axsys Dental Solutions benchtop Versamill 5X-300D five-axis machining center is designed to ensure maximum flexibility and versatility. The open-source device can accept input from any popular dental design program. It targets conventional crown and bridge work, copings, inlays, onlays, and models as well as more complex indications with dry millable materials.

Despite its compact size and 90-kg weight, the Versamill 5X-300D is constructed using the technology found in full-frame CNC industrial machines for higher precision and more reliable performance in the long term, according to the company. It also is designed to quickly manufacture restorations with thin, clean margins, minimizing profit-robbing, error-prone, post-machining hand work. Most restorations require as little as 40-µm margin reinforcement.

According to the company, the Versamill 5X-300D virtually eliminates the problems that typically plague smaller benchtop machines such as massive margin reinforcements and poor fits. Additionally, the Versamill 5X-300D features:

  • Vibration-absorbing aluminum frame construction
  • Fully supported 10-mm ball screws
  • A closed-loop axes drive system
  • Linear guideways
  • A 60,000-rpm, 500-W spindle
  • Built-in high-speed machine control

With its trouble-free service commitment, service is performed without the need to return the Versamill 5X-300D to the service center as well. Special starter packages include all of the necessary elements to get up and running as quickly as possible, including the hyperDENT software solution, soft tooling starter package, Quatro iVac2 dust collection system, and training, start at $27,685.
