MouthWatch has updated its TeleDent teledentistry platform to include:

  • An online patient intake form: Patients now can easily request a teledentistry consultation through an online TeleDent request form that can be easily added to a dental practice’s website, according to the company.
  • Mobile patient portal access: TeleDent now makes it easier for patients to access the patient portal on their mobile phones, MouthWatch said. Patients can use the portal to schedule a live virtual consult or message the practice. A mobile app also is available for patients but not required.
  • Dental team texting: Dental professionals can send text messages for patient portal registrations or to invite patients to join virtual consults. Email is still an option but not a requirement.
  • Virtual dental team support: Team members now can use their smartphones to manage the practice’s TeleDent account directly, including user management, billing tools, and custom practice branding. Dental team members also can access training and education resources through the TeleDent Learning Center anytime, anywhere.

“During the height of the pandemic, we experienced a tremendous number of signups and inquiries for TeleDent. This provided us with an opportunity to gain valuable feedback from a new group of clinicians and patients. The results was the development of enhanced features designed to improve the dental health experience on both sides of the dental encounter,” said MouthWatch Founder and CEO Brant Herman.

“These newest enhancements will further establish TeleDent as the professional grade teledentistry platform that also delivers the safety, convenience, and efficiency that patients and dental teams alike will appreciate,” said Herman.
