The Kerr Endodontics elements IC Obturation System offers longer battery life, enhanced ergonomic design, and an improved OLED interface compared to its predecessor, the elements free, according to the company. Its Downpack heat source uses precisely controlled, electric heat pluggers that reach 200°C in less than half a second, Kerr says, suiting it for single-motion downpack obturation of the apical portion of the root canal.
Similarly, its ergonomic gutta-percha backfilling device works effortlessly without ratcheting problems for reducing extrusion time by at least 20% compared to elementsfree, Kerr says. It also can complete more than 16 canals on a single Backfill charge. Through its streamlined interface, faster performance, and responsive controls, the company says, the elements IC offers more predictable and efficient outcomes in obturation.
