DenMat’s Core-Post is designed for core buildups in single-tooth restorations. Flexing like natural tooth structure, it dramatically minimizes tooth stress and fractures that occur with standard metal posts, the company reports. With a coefficient of thermal expansion and modulus of elasticity nearly identical to dentin, Core-Post’s physical properties are key to its strength and compatibility with cement, dentin, and core, according to DenMat. The posts are designed to be easy to cut and use and are available in carbon fiber for increased posterior strength and tooth-colored glass fiber for anterior aesthetics. Core-Posts are available in five diameters, including 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.7, and 2.0 mm. DenMat offers Core-Post in a value kit (five posts of each size) as well as an intro kit (two carbon posts and two glass posts in the 1-mm and 1.5-mm sizes). Single-vial kits (10 posts) are also available.
