The Rebrush CEREC Software project from Dentsply Sirona and Ergosign received a Brands & Communication Design Award out of the 8,697 applicants in the Interface and User Experience Design category from Red Dot in Berlin.

“We are proud of having created a new software design with our colleagues at Ergosign that makes CEREC even easier, faster, and more intuitive to use than before,” said Dr. Alexander Völcker, group vice president of digital and orthodontics at Dentsply Sirona.

The project’s user interface and intelligent automation enable dentists to design high-quality, aesthetic crowns in just five clicks, produce them in a CEREC milling unit, and insert them in the same session, according to Dentsply Sirona.

After making the digital impression with the Primescan intraoral scanner, the preparation margin then is automatically marked, but it can be modified manually at any time, Dentsply Sirona says.

This, in addition to functional adjustments within the software and a changed biogeneric algorithm with improved consideration of the minimum material thickness, leads to initial proposals that require practically no modification, Dentsply Sirona says.

Numerous feedbacks and help functions are designed to shorten the learning curve and ensure the software can be operated effectively from the start. Help functions include color analysis for support when selecting tooth color and a virtual articulator to determine functional contacts for improved static and dynamic occlusion.
