The Good Doctors USA NEO apex locator has received clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration and is ready for distribution. The lightweight, patent-pending device is the size of a smart watch (43 x 46 x 16 mm) and is the world’s smallest apex locator, according to Good Doctors USA. Designed for dentists who are tired of having to continually lift up their head to look at the apex locator while performing root canals, it can clip onto the included finger ruler. Users, then, never have to unnecessarily hold up their heads while checking pocket depths. The neck-saving, ergonomic NEO also can be clipped onto its included stand or onto the patient’s bib. Designed to be easy to read, its color touchscreen can be operated with a gloved finger and allows dentists to choose display styles, set working lengths, turn the audio alert on or off, and even set the available timer. The NEO’s rechargeable battery comes with a USB/Micro charging cable.
