Eight of 10 people in Singapore brush two times each day and about 70 percent of the people go for a checkup at least once every 12 months.
The information comes as the result of a survey done by the Nielsen Company. The study was commissioned by Colgate-Palmolive and the information.
Since it’s National Oral Health month in Singapore, citizens in the country may get a free dental checkup at 300 participating dental clinics across the nation. Examinations are also being given at supermarkets on weekends. This initiative is being supported by the Singapore Dental Association, as well as other entities involving health.
The theme of this year’s initiative is the result bad oral health has on a person’s overall health, including the possibility of higher risk for heart disease, strokes, diabetes, problems during pregnancy, etc.
The country will conduct a survey again next year to see if the people maintain this high level of oral health.
