The global market for smart electric toothbrushes reached $330.6 million in 2018 and will grow to $816.8 million by the end of 2027 with a compound annual growth rate of 10.4%, according to ResearchAndMarkets.
The analyst company attributes this growth to increasing disposable income and improved awareness of oral health. Plus, younger generations will face greater prevalence of oral diseases due to their heavy consumption of alcohol, tobacco, and sugar, ResearchAndMarkets says.
The company also notes the emergence of advanced features including 3-D motion pressure sensors, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, artificial intelligence, and mobile apps, all providing advanced monitoring capabilities to improve oral hygiene habits.
North America will see the largest market share because of the presence of many key industry players, many of whom are actively adding smart features to their electric toothbrush lineups. But the Asia-Pacific region will see the fastest market growth due to their improving economies.
