CHARLOTTE, NC. True to its dedication to the North American medical and dental markets, leading Italian dental equipment manufacturer Cefla Dental Group announces the formation of its NewTom US division. The new division will join Cefla Dental brands MyRay and SternWeber at the corporationʼs North American headquarters in Charlotte, NC. This substantial investment in the US and Canadian markets will provide significant benefits to existing and potential NewTom users.

Traditionally, NewTom had been imported and distributed through ImageWorks/AFP Imaging. “But now that this long-standing collaboration contract has ended, we are excited to bring distribution and support in- house” says Sergio Ghezzi, global managing director of Cefla Dentalʼs imaging divisions MyRay and NewTom.

The joint operations of Ceflaʼs imaging brands NewTom and MyRay will be the responsibility of Vittorio Belluz, executive VP of Cefla Dental Group in North America. “Our goal is to sustainably grow the NewTom US business unit and I strongly believe that the only way to do this is by creating Total Customer Satisfaction.” Management plans to draw on synergies from a combined service force and efficient, direct collaboration between the R&D and manufacturing teams in Italy and the US NewTom community. Cefla North Americaʼs 150,000sqft headquarters houses a team of service engineers, distribution and support staff as well as an extensive spare parts warehouse to meet and exceed customersʼ needs.

Together with his Charlotte based team, Belluz says he is looking forward to facilitating access to top-notch diagnostics for American maxillofacial patients. Cone-Beam-Computed-Tomography (CBCT) is a compact version of standard CT imaging that uses a cone-shaped X-ray beam to obtain a multitude of radiographs that construct digital 3D models of maxillofacial anatomies. Some of the advantages compared to traditional CT scanners are less radiation, faster scan times and a more comfortable patient experience.

The company manufactured the worldʼs first CBCT scanner in 1997 and NewTom has since become the global leader in maxillofacial and medical CBCT application technology. Located in Verona, Italy, NewTom is part of Cefla s.c., a market leader in production and marketing of a wide range of dental brands such as treatment center and chair lines Anthos, Castellini, SternWeber and Victor, as well as imaging brands NewTom and MyRay.
