The Touro College of Dental Medicine (TCDM) in Hawthorne, New York, has announced its fall and winter 2019 lineup of continuing education (CE) courses for dentists and dental professionals. The schedule includes several hands-on courses leveraging the expertise of TCDM’s faculty and other experts, the school’s new simulation and clinical training facilities, and investments in the latest digital dental technologies, the school reports.
“As the primary oral health educational center between NYC and Albany, along with our impressive technology, the Touro College of Dental Medicine sees real-time, hands-on education as an obligation to the practicing dental community in the lower Hudson Valley,” said Ronnie Myers, DDS, dean of TCDM. “We will continue to develop these much needed types of programs to supplement the many lecture programs that currently exist.”
The lineup includes the mini-residency on Implant Dentistry for the Partially Edentulous Patient. Scheduled for one day a month from September 1, 2019, through June 1, 2020, the course is designed for general dentists. Other upcoming courses include:
- September 11: Medical Emergencies in the Dental Office Experience
- October 25: An Introduction to Digital Intraoral Scanning
- November 7 and 8: Lasers in Dentistry
- January 31, 2020: CBCT Interpretation: A New Dimension in Radiology
TCDM plans to expand its CE program to include other unique hands-on courses on a wide variety of topics for faculty, community practitioners, and its future alumni. Guest instructors interested in collaborating to develop programs of interest are encouraged to reach out to the school. For more information, visit dental.touro.edu/continuing-education/.
