The University of Montpellier in Dardilly, France, has awarded its Medal of Honor to Ultradent Products. Founder and CEO Dan Fischer, DDS, received the award, which is the university’s highest recognition, on behalf of the company.
University dean Philippe Gibert, DDS, PhD, called the award a “mark of gratitude for the involvement of Ultradent in the training of future dentists at Montpellier and, overall, for their important contribution to the teaching of dentistry.
Since 2009, Ultradent has been involved in the university’s dental program, helping provide practical training to students in tooth whitening, adhesions, veneers, and management and leadership through product support, training, and lecturing.
Also, Ultradent supported the creation of a postgraduate diploma by Bruno Pelessier, DDS, PhD, in aesthetic and restorative dentistry, which has become the most widely recognized and reputable professional diploma for working dentists in France, according to the company.
Ultradent additionally helped the university develop a master class on posterior restorations that is not only available at its main campus in France but also at outposts on the islands of Réunion, Gualdeloupe, and Martinique.
“Receiving this award was very humbling and a sweet gesture by our colleagues at the University of Montpelier, including Dr. Bruno Pelessier,” said Fischer. “I was very honored to accept it on behalf of the entire company and everyone’s hard work and effort in partnership with the University of Montpellier.”
