America’s ToothFairy will host a webinar, Aspertools: A Look at Neurodiversity, on Wednesday, November 18 at 2:00 pm ET. Dr. Harold Reitman will discuss his own experiences as the father of someone with Asperger’s syndrome along with how medical professionals can understand and embrace neurodiversity. He also will detail the societal and professional benefits of doing so.
Dr. Reitman is the author of Aspertools: The Practical Guide to Understanding and Embracing Asperger’s Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Neurodiversity. He also is an orthopedic surgeon and a board member of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County in Florida. He is a former professional heavyweight boxer and an independent filmmaker as well.
As a public speaker, Dr. Reitman recently gave a keynote address for the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry at the Special Olympics in Los Angeles. He also presented at the US Autism and Asperger Association World Conference alongside other advocates such as Temple Grandin. His new film, The Square Root of 2, explores the struggles of a college student with undiagnosed Asperger’s syndrome.
